The German carmaker asked in 2018 “what can a Porsche look like where the focus is on the experience of space? Is such a car even compatible with the values of the Porsche brand? Michael Mauer and his team answered these questions in 2018 with an unusual automotive vision: the Porsche Vision “Renndienst”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Porsche explains that “it is a free variant of the family van with room for up to six people. This concept has an ancestor in the history of the Porsche brand: the legendary VW racing service van.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Michael Mauer, pictured above, it was clear from the outset that such a Porsche should not be conceived and designed as a mere MPV. It had to venture into new territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team therefore designed a futuristic “space shuttle” of exciting proportions, which combines sportiness and travelling comfort in a completely new way, but is still immediately recognisable as a Porsche. Thanks to its bodywork with flared wheel arches and the asymmetrical design of its windows, this concept is unclassifiable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, passengers will find an extremely comfortable and flexible interior. The driver of the Porsche Vision “Renndienst” sits in a central seat. This location offers a unique, sporty driving experience, while the on-board architecture gives passengers an unobstructed view of the front. The all-electric power train is located in the underbody to save space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1966, Pininfarina designed the Ferrari 365 P Berlinetta Speciale with the driver in the centre. In 2018, Porsche is using this architecture.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
