Si le polystyr\u00e8ne et ses \u00e9quivalents ont envahi les centres de design et les salles de maquettes, c&#8217;est avant tout pour passer rapidement au stade du volume \u00e9chelle 1 et constater si ce fameux \u00e9quilibre est bien dans l&#8217;ADN du projet. En d\u00e9couvrant la version d\u00e9finitive de la BMW Z4 d\u00e9voil\u00e9e \u00e0 Pebble Beach le 23 ao\u00fbt dernier, j&#8217;ai \u00e9t\u00e9 quelque peu \u00e9tonn\u00e9 de l&#8217;imposant porte-\u00e0-faux avant. La solution du tout \u00e9lectrique devait logiquement redistribuer les cartes de l&#8217;architecture automobile, mais lorsqu&#8217;on voit les futures Audi e-Tron et les Mercedes de la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration EQ, on finit quand m\u00eame par en douter. La mutation automobile (voiture autonome, \u00e9lectrique et connect\u00e9e) est-elle finalement plus rapide que celle du design qui doit l&#8217;habiller ? Heureusement, la BMW Z4 reste mue par un moteur thermique six cylindres qu&#8217;elle partagera en partie avec la prochaine Toyota Supra (printemps 2019). On dit de cette derni\u00e8re qu&#8217;elle serait plus radicale que la Z4 ?
