En d\u00e9couvrant la maquette de la Peugeot 208 de 2012, l\u2019un des participants \u00e0 la r\u00e9union aurait l\u00e2ch\u00e9\u00a0: <em>\u00ab\u00a0elle n\u2019est pas un peu trop petite\u00a0?\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0<\/em>Cette compacit\u00e9 a finalement \u00e9t\u00e9 per\u00e7ue comme un atout.<br \/>\nCompacte, l\u00e9g\u00e8re et dynamique, la 208 de 2012 a eu de belles cartes \u00e0 jouer pour affronter les concurrentes du segment B2 et notamment la premi\u00e8re Clio de l\u2019\u00e8re Laurens van den Acker chez Renault. Nouvelle plateforme mais aussi nouveau design. Vous voici en compagnie du designer ext\u00e9rieur de la 208 (Kevin Goncalves) et du responsable design projet de cette nouvelle Peugeot (Yann Beurel). Avec eux, partez \u00e0 la d\u00e9couverte du design de cette berline qui veut bousculer son segment (voir ici :\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2LhRl8wcBVE\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2LhRl8wcBVE<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>LIGNES\/auto : En d\u00e9couvrant cette nouvelle 208, on a l\u2019impression d\u2019une voiture plus grande, plus dynamique que l\u2019actuelle\u00a0!<br \/>\nKevin Goncalves<\/strong>\u00a0: <em>\u00ab La nouvelle 208 est plus longue, plus large et plus basse que l\u2019actuelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration. Sur ce nouveau projet, on a vraiment travaill\u00e9 en priorit\u00e9 les proportions en reculant le pare-brise. La cabine est plus en arri\u00e8re, le capot devient plus long, plus sculpt\u00e9. Il faut voir toujours plus loin. La fa\u00e7on dont on raisonne avec Gilles Vidal est de travailler au plus long terme possible. Quelle direction prendre. Pour la 208, notre but \u00e9tait aussi de penser au design int\u00e9rieur avec nos coll\u00e8gues. Une sorte de ping-pong entre les \u00e9quipes &#8216;inter&#8217; et &#8216;exter&#8217; qui permet d\u2019aboutir \u00e0 un produit extr\u00eamement coh\u00e9rent.\u00a0\u00bb<\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vous aviez quand m\u00eame en t\u00eate les 3008, 5008 et 508 qui vous ont un peu trac\u00e9 la voie ?<br \/>\n<\/strong>K.G.\u00a0: <em>\u00ab\u00a0Chaque voiture qui pointe le bout de son nez ram\u00e8ne \u00e0 l\u2019histoire de la marque.\u00a0<\/em><em>Avoir la confiance de la marque, c\u2019est g\u00e9nial. Peugeot est arriv\u00e9 sur le march\u00e9 avec une 508 tr\u00e8s aboutie et la 208 est naturellement devenue une \u00ab\u00a0baby 508\u00a0\u00bb, elle va m\u00eame plus loin encore en termes de design. En pleine vue arri\u00e8re, le travail fait sur les proportions est peaufin\u00e9 dans les moindres d\u00e9tails. On doit tirer le maximum de ce qu\u2019on peut tirer comme par exemple cette profondeur d\u2019emboutissage pour les ailes. Il a fallu sortir de notre zone de confort et on a donc beaucoup travaill\u00e9 avec les \u00e9quipes de l\u2019emboutissage pour y arriver. On demande toujours aux stylistes d\u2019aller au-del\u00e0 de leurs habitudes, de pousser toujours la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 et on tente de v\u00e9hiculer cette notion \u00e0 travers l\u2019entreprise, avec les diff\u00e9rents m\u00e9tiers.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>La relation entre technique et design est toujours compliqu\u00e9e\u00a0?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Y.B.\u00a0: <em>\u00ab\u00a0Non. Par exemple nous sommes arriv\u00e9s \u00e0 reculer le pare-brise afin de conserver tout le dynamisme des dessins de Kevin. On assiste \u00e0 toutes les s\u00e9ances de convergences avec les diff\u00e9rents m\u00e9tiers d\u2019engineering et du d\u00e9veloppement industriel. On joue le r\u00f4le d\u2019agent de liaison entre tous ces \u00e9quipes. Le but est bien \u00e9videmment d\u2019obtenir \u00e0 la fin une voiture coh\u00e9rente entre les designs \u2018exter\u2019 et \u2018inter\u2019.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>C\u2019est parfois un vrai combat ?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Y.B.\u00a0: <em>\u00ab\u00a0On s\u2019appuie sur la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 de nos designers. Pour la P21, une fois qu\u2019on a trouv\u00e9 un truc super dans le scketch de Kevin, on prend notre b\u00e2ton de p\u00e8lerin et on va voir la technique pour obtenir ce qui nous semble le bon choix. Un exemple\u00a0: l\u2019inclinaison de la lunette arri\u00e8re plus dynamique, \u00e7a para\u00eet tout simple mais c\u2019est un vrai d\u00e9fi technologique, notamment pour toutes les reprises d\u2019efforts sur l\u2019anneau arri\u00e8re. An example: the tilt of the rear window, which is more dynamic, seems very simple but it is a real technological challenge, especially for all the efforts made on the rear ring.
